Designed to create a great
seal, while still using by-pass technology, the FlowShift
plunger is state of the art when it comes to reliability. The
smaller outer diameter and the weight of the inner mandrel,
assisted by the seal of the triple-interlocking pads, ensures
the by-pass stays open. The seal is the equivalent of our
conventional double pad plunger and the bypass is like the
original FlowShift plunger. You get the best of both worlds.

» Stainless Steel 17-4PH Construction

How It Works
 |
|
A) When the plunger
stops traveling at the top of the cycle, the flow of the well
pushes the floating sleeve away from the bottom sub. With the
by-pass area now open, the plunger begins its trip to the
bottom. The smaller OD and the weight of the inner mandrel,
assisted by the drag of the floating sleeve on the ID of the
tubing, ensure that the by-pass stays open. Gas flow and liquids
pass through the plunger as it falls.
B) When the plunger reaches the bottom, gravity moves the
floating sleeve towards the bottom sub. The larger area of the
bottom sub is forced upwards by the flow of the well, to join
with the floating sleeve. With the by-pass holes now covered,
the plunger travels to the surface, removing liquids from the
tubing. This allow for very little shut-in time. |
